How do I care for my favorite MY1996 pieces?
Meshes
Woolens are fragile pieces. To take care of them, it is obligatory to wash them in a net on a delicate program. Depending on your machine, you can use a short, delicate or special wool cycle. However, the ideal is to wash by hand to give your sweater maximum softness.
To avoid deforming your wool, choose to hang it flat rather than on a hanger.
Wool tends to pill. To remove pilling, you can use an anti-pilling razor . No more classic razors which could cut the wires!
Pleated fabrics
Pleated fabrics are very trendy. You can find them on our skirts, dresses and pants. The folds are made using machines at very high heat. If you iron the creases, they may disappear. Therefore, to remove wrinkles from your items, we advise you to use a steam iron. The steam will preserve the natural folds of the garment. If you do not have a steamer, you can position your iron vertically without touching the fabric. The steam will smooth your item.
The satin
The satin materials that you can find on some of our clothes such as dresses, skirts and blouses are delicate and require the greatest care. It is essential to wash them by hand or in the washing machine on a short cycle.
To remove creases, we recommend using a steamer which will smooth your piece without damaging it like an iron could do.
Faux leather
Faux leather, the essential piece of your wardrobe, also requires your greatest attention! We recommend washing your piece in a cold linen.
To remove wrinkles, you can cover the item with a towel and iron it using your iron. The towel will protect the fabric and give you a wrinkle-free item!
The veil
The veil is a fragile material which requires your full attention. We often find it on our spring blouses.
We recommend that you wash your veil pieces in a net to protect them from getting caught in the washing machine. No need to iron the veil, lay it flat and it will dry quickly without creases! We're not going to hide it, the pieces that don't require ironing are the best, right?!
The cotton
Cotton is a material that is easy to maintain. We recommend that you wash items made from this material at 30°C with a vigorous spin cycle as cotton absorbs a lot of water.
For drying, we do not recommend using a tumble dryer. Instead, opt for drying in the open air, taking care to shake your item before hanging it out to avoid creases.
Lace
Very pretty but also fragile, lace requires delicacy.
We recommend hand washing. Let the lace garment soak and handle it gently. Spinning must be carried out delicately.
If you prefer machine washing, then it will be necessary to place the garment in a mesh bag and wash on a delicate program. Spinning should also be gentle.
To remove creases, you can use an iron as long as you slide a towel between the garment and the iron so as not to damage the lace.
How do I remove a stain from my clothing?
Realize you've stained your new favorite blouse? Don't panic, we have the solution!
We advise you to use cold water to wash your garment, hot water could set the stain. We often have the reflex to rub the stain to make it disappear but this could make it worse! The best is to dab it with absorbent paper.
We recommend that you put your garment in the washing machine as quickly as possible so that the stain does not have time to set in. Use a stain remover that you leave to act for the time indicated on the packaging. If, however, you do not have a stain remover, you can use white vinegar for coffee, tea, wine, lipstick stains, etc. As for chocolate or grease accidents, your best ally will be Marseille soap. These miracle stain removers should be used with cold water.
We hope that our advice will be useful to you and will allow you to best preserve your pretty clothes. Beyond our advice, don't forget to consult the label inside your clothes. All the maintenance tips are there!
